Cordless mower August 23, 2008 Mike H (Manchester) 82 out of 84 found this review helpful
While I understand the points made by the other reviewer regarding grass collection, length of grass and battery life I must point out that these apply only if you expect the mower to perform like a top of the range Qualcast /Mountfield etc
The plus points which are mainly for those of us of advancing years(or maybe not) who want a lightweight machine which does a reasonable job and is very easy to manoeuvre on a medium sized lawn (in fact a step up from a manual push machine), is very easy to get out and put away and does not have wires to trip over.
The secret is to plan the mowing - mow frequently to avoid the grass getting long, mow when grass is dry (very important) and the battery life and grass collection are fine, have two batteries use alternately and charge for 12 to 24 hours after each mow.
I changed from a £400 petrol driven monster over 3 years ago and I still do not regret it and it still works fine~I am not thinking of changing. For me the upsides far outway the downsides
Great mower May 3, 2009 NickS 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I've got a wonderful striped lawn thanks to this mower and it's easy to use.
The trick is little and often - regular cuts of shortish dry grass, for that it's great. It does not work too well if you prefer to cut less regularly when the grass is longer/damper.
Medium size lawns, battery has been lasting for 45 minutes
GTech CM01 Rechargeable Cordless Cylinder Lawn Mower July 23, 2009 Anne Doble (Portknockie, NE Scotland) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This mower was bought to avoid having the hassle of setting up extension leads etc. Although it does make the whole process easier in that respect, the mower does not seem to pack enough of a punch & seems to require a lot of effort to push. This may be because I have charged the battery a couple of days before using it rather than immediately prior to use? Time will tell. Also, the grass collector seems to detach itself far too easily during use.Overall though, it is much quicker task now than it was with the mains mower & it is more compact to store & move about.

Good idea let down by key features September 5, 2009 Steve P (Wiltshire, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this about a year ago and at first i was delighted with its light weight and its maneouvrability (far easier than my old clunky heavyweight Flymo). However, i was disappointed with the height adjustment as i had to set it on its lowest setting in order to get a decent cut, thus rendering the other settings redundant. After using it for some months, i became aware of it making excessive noise - this was caused by one of the blades being slightly warped/dented (presumably this was caused by a stone) which highlighted to me the design flaw of a cylinder mower - it only needs a slight amount of damage to knock it out of alignment. I gave up using it and bought a new light-weight Flymo instead.
Do not waste your money May 28, 2008 M. C. Bacon (Hampshire, UK) 64 out of 68 found this review helpful
I bought this last year (not from Amazon) and am now in the market for another mower. I have been very dissapointed with it, because it is simply not up the job of cutting grass effectively. I spend more time csraping grass out of the cutting chamber where is collects on the axle (not in the collection box!). The battery life is appalling. It is unable to cut grass more than about 50mm long. All in all it is a pretty - but quite useless machine.
